Traditional house Parać, located on the ancient Amphitheater in Salona, belongs to the hamlet Paraćevi and was built in 1863 in the vicinity of other houses. The house was built during the 19th century in a traditional way using the stone from the Amphitheater of Salona (one storey, stone, thick walls, and a roof built of stone slabs). It consists of fireplace (komin), a storage and a barn on the ground floor, and upstairs there is a bedroom which is accessed by exterior stone steps.
Traditional house Parać today serves as an exhibition, gallery and educational space, with an archaeological collection and an ancient workshop. It is part of the cultural offer of the city of Solin in cooperation with several Solin institutions: the City of Solin, the Tourist Board of Solin, Zvonimir Public Institution of Culture and the Archaeological Museum of Split. The house is an example of a successful long-term project in the presentation and appreciation of cultural heritage and part of the Salona archaeological site, through several stages: education, restoration, development of cultural content and programs that achieve the goals of promoting and preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the area of Solin.
